Welcome. We’re glad you’re here.

humhum is a community-first dating app that offers mindful guided 1:1 dates, group experiences, and coaching online. We create containers that center human connection, encourage a growth mindset as it pertains to relationships, and provide educational content and experiences to nourish people along their dating journeys. Mental wellness practitioners—including counselors, therapists, and coaches—have told us that humhum feels like a powerful supplement to the in-session work they are doing with their clients.

We send out a bi-weekly newsletter that explores how to cultivate connective, expansive, and generative dating and relational experiences through collective wisdom curated from within the humhum community, as well as featured works from contributors across mental and holistic wellness disciplines.

at humhum, we see intentional dating as a path to growth and healing, and will focus on relating as a practice, rather than as a means to an end.

What We Offer

For our monthly members, we curate and book them on one guided blind date every month to support a consistent dating practice. Each date is initially guided by a humhum facilitator, trained to uphold a container designed to foster authentic connection and mindfulness.

We offer coaching sessions for people to explore what’s top of mind and heart in their dating practice. Work 1:1 with a professional guide to approach connection from a resourced and intentional place for a more satisfying dating experience.

Our virtual experiences provide opportunities for learning, practice, and connection. We offer mindfulness, movement, play, and guided dialogue to foster meaningful connection with self and others. Instead of swiping using our eyes and brains, we engage our bodies and hearts to connect as omni-dimensional beings.

What people are saying

humhum founder, Alexandra Ballensweig was featured on the Cheaper Than Therapy Podcast hosted by Dené Logan and Vanessa Bennett.

Given current world circumstances and the sometimes dehumanizing experience of online dating, this kind of work is hugely important and impactful. I highly recommend you check it out for yourself.
— Hayden, Chicago
The set-up and grounding experience helped relieve my own tension/anxiety of meeting a complete stranger in this meaningful way.
— Sam, New York
It was refreshing to step outside the “normal” dating framework.
— Sonja, New York
Structured but not too structured, the prompts prompt you to think, etc. I learned a few things and came away from it with a yearning for more learning, food for thought and that sort of thing.
— Jay, New York
